Nice stay next to the river

Pros: I love the local vibe and peacefulness of the place. It was very close to many local attractions by foot, boat or a grab. It felt very homely and welcoming!

Quiet home base

Pros: Friendly staff and very quiet yet reasonably accessible location. Great restaurant on site.

Cons: Beds and room were a bit cramped, and I'm 185cm tall and 215lbs.

Pros: Very charming place, located right on the river. Peaceful and convenient location (walking or short drive to main attractions). The staff was very nice and helpful - a special thanks to Araya for her help with booking the airport transfer!

Pros: Araya, an English speaking member of staff made a huge difference to our stay. She helped us to order food and organised transport. We loved the sound of the river beneath our floor boards. The food in the restaurant is excellent.

Cons: A kettle in our room would’ve been appreciated.

Pros: This was my 11th visit to Bangkok and now I almost exclusively look for charming and off beat stays like this one. It’s a traditional wooden Thai house, and you feel it sway to the waves of the Chao Phraya. If you bring mosquito repellent the restaurant is a great spot to sit and drink a few Changs in the evenings while looking into the water. There is a spirit house. You can observe some night time fishermen rowing around with their headlamps on in the khlongs. At the river bank you always have Thai teenagers enjoying mu krata and a few drinks and music. There are some local restaurants and street food nearby but the best food is undoubtedly within the property, in the restaurant. I felt like I was at a home rather than a hotel. And the young manager who helped me check in and check out was such a pleasant ray of sunshine, she really brightened my day every time I saw her.

Lovely staff and a good restaurant, but rooms are for Low-Budget travellers with little expectations

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Kalong home. The room had everything you need. The restaurant had good food, The staff was lovely and very helpful

Cons: The bathroom needs a renovation - there was mold in the shower. The breakfast could have been bigger in size for the price you pay, but was tasty.
