Kalanan Riverside Resort

Pros: Very busy hotel but even with parties wedding receptions room was quiet. Very nice hotel to stay excellent breakfast plenty of choice well set out. Staff are help and very polite

My favourite hotel in Bangkok to escape the hustle and bustle of one of the world’s greatest cities.

Pros: The hotels colonial decor with its exceptional views of the river makes you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. Make sure to enjoy both pools (the lagoon style pool is my favourite), and sample the free Thai snacks supplied for afternoon tea. The gardens are luscious, well kept and great to explore. A very good breakfast, and the riverside restaurant serves delicious food, some of the best in the area. The hotel staff are all attentive and friendly. Upon my son’s Birthday they decorated our room with Happy Birthday signs and left him cake (thank you, he loved it)

Pros: Lovely hotel, great food in the restaurant. Lovely grounds, next to the river. The rooms are set around the court yard pool. Good breakfast.

Exceed expectation and a room for improvement

Pros: Superb location and surroundings (the riverfront, greenery, and spacious area for strolling. A convenient store (CJ) and local fresh/food market are just in a walking distance. The hotel architect reserves the classic vibes with decoration of paintings and old photos giving a calm ambiance to the place. Cleanliness is outstanding throughout the hotel area and the room. Cleaners are helpful and very polite with beautiful mannerisms to guests.

Cons: Front desk staff are not warm and informative. For example, the hotel was arranging for the New Year event using the swimming pool area on the 2 floor but no pre-warning to guests about the workmen clearing out the area. Guests were leaving items at the pool on the way to breakfast. When returned to the pool, guests found that all the sunbeds and chairs were removed and their items were left on the floor. There should be a notice to guests in advance by either verbal or a sign.

Charming.

Pros: Very beautiful setting. Charming and well maintained. Stunning river views. Lovely compound.

Cons: Breakfast should be much better at this grade of hotel. We were pretty surprised especially as in Thailand breakfasts are on average amazing. Also there should be at least some vegetarian options, our friends struggled.

Lovely stay

Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and the bed was comfortable. The pool was lovely.

Cons: The location wasn't great. The hotel was quite isolated and it was too far to walk anywhere. Had to get taxis.

Pros: Luxury hotel great breakfast very comfatble stay all staff very polite helpful and friendly. Room kept very clean. Fantastic surroundings.

Pros: Buffet breakfast was very good , catering for East and West cuisines. Surrounding gardens are beautiful. All staff were excellent and helpful.
